About this site

schools.successtutoring.com is built and maintained by Success Tutoring, an Australian K–12 tutoring network. We started it because the parents we meet every day were trying to compare schools with scattered, out-of-date information, and because we believe every family deserves the same quality of data that researchers and departments have.

Who writes the guides

Michael Black, Founder and CEO, Success Tutoring. Michael Black founded Success Tutoring and has grown it into one of Australia's fastest-expanding K–12 tutoring networks. He writes about school choice, the Australian Curriculum and how families can support learning at home.

What we publish

A profile for every one of the 9,755 schools in ACARA's 2025 dataset, a transparent ranking (the Success Index), directory pages for every suburb, postcode, council area and region, and plain-English guides.

How we make money

We do not sell rankings, placements or advertising to schools. The site is free to use. Success Tutoring offers a free academic assessment and paid tutoring memberships; if you book one through this site, that is how the site is funded. Rankings are computed by code from ACARA data and cannot be influenced by commercial relationships.

Editorial independence

Guides are written by Success Tutoring's education team. Where a guide mentions tutoring, it says so plainly. We welcome corrections: email hello@successtutoring.com.au.

For schools

If you represent a school and believe your data is wrong, please contact ACARA to correct the source record and email us with your ACARA ID; we will refresh your profile at the next data update. We are also happy to link to published results or open-day information from your profile.

For researchers and developers

Each school has a machine-readable endpoint at /api/schools/{ACARA_ID}, and an llms.txt summarises the site for AI systems. Please attribute ACARA for the underlying data and this site for the Success Index.
